Italo makes its cinema debut with a new 60” commercial by DDB Group Italy

Italo’s journey continues as it conquers the big screen. From September 18th to24th, the spectacular new 60-second film from the “Italo is magic” campaign, created by DDB Group Italy and already on air on TV as well as the brand’s digital and social channels, arrives in the Italian cinemas.

Following the success of the subjects launched last May, along with an integrated campaign that, in addition to digital and social, also featured OOH and DOOH, the brand and agency are now presenting a long-cut filled with even more phantasmagorical adventures brought to life aboard Italo trains. A more immersive and dynamic visual and narrative journey, further enriched by the notes of Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now”, which add rhythm to the fast-paced and vibrant montage, reinforcing the idea of an extraordinary travel experience—one that transforms into pure imagination. Exceptional settings such as the Wild West and Outer Space are combined with memorable characters inspired by cinematic genres that, since childhood, have fueled everyone’s imagination.

“It’s a source of pride, but also a deeply moving experience, to see our commercial in Italian cinemas. This project, into which we poured resources and energy, is the result of the latest frontiers of technology and the undisputed expertise of all the professionals who contributed to it. Watching Italo run across the giant cinema screens is a new milestone achieved, made possible thanks to the excellence of our services,” commented Fabrizio Bona, Italo’s Chief Commercial Officer.

Luca Cortesini, Chief Creative Officer of DDB, added: “This is the kind of project you’re lucky enough to execute so well only when you have a client who listens and an agency with something to say. When both sides move at the same speed—and in this case, we can truly say that given the challenging production timeline—the result is this: a precious film that stands out from the general noise of the Italian market, backed by world-class production, and telling excellence with equal excellence. Bringing it to the cinema, a place of great strategic and human value, is the perfect ending. It couldn’t have been better.”

This new format, once again produced by KAREN FILM and directed by multi-award-winning Ernest Desumbila with the support of his renowned animation and post-production studio SAUVAGE.IT, will also be released in 30” and 15” versions, as part of a media plan spanning Cinema, TV, Digital, Social, and large-scale billboards in major Italian cities and train stations.
